AWJ Glass Group received the industry's top accolade as Glass Company of the Year 2008 at the prestigious G08 Awards, held in Birmingham. The status associated with winning this award is high recognition indeed of the quality standards offered by AWJ Glass in terms of both product and customer support.
Senior management consider that it will help to create further opportunities with both existing and potential customers, knowing that the entire team has been rewarded for providing superior standards to the industry.
The progressive, customer-oriented business, operates from a 42,000 sq ft bespoke factory in Scarborough. With one of the most modern glass processing facilities in the country, the team at AWJ Glass can manufacture over 7,500 Kitemarked units per week.
The company ethos is to provide consistent quality with market leading products using some of the most advanced machinery available. This enables the company to manufacture highly efficient Tri-seal units that will provide considerable energy saving benefits to customers.
AWJ Glass has seen considerable growth over the last few years and is firmly established as a market leading manufacturer with a progressive approach to future market trends and demands. Aspects that were clearly recognised by the G08 judging panel.
Additionally, the company has a radical approach to environmental issues which one of the judges Giles Wilson, stated to Managing Director, Andy Whitelaw and Sales Director James Lister. The dynamic business places quality, training and green issues as a priority which was evident at the time of judging.
The AWJ Glass Group premises were meticulously planned with environmental issues being vital aspects to incorporate into the design of the factory.
Reducing carbon emissions was fundamental for senior management, with features integrated that would both help to protect the environment and prove cost effective in respect of running the factory.
